Toronto, Ontario (November 1, 2016) – Cadillac Fairview (CF) is pleased to announce that new youth-leadership driven philanthropy platform announced last fall, CF served more than 60,000 Canadian youth in 2016 through partner charity organizations dedicated to causes focused on education, health and wellness, and employment, along with youth empowerment and leadership development.


In 2016, CF committed to donating a total of $1.1 million to 15 youth leadership charities from grassroots movements to nationally recognized organizations. This includes a multi-year commitment to United Way Toronto and York Region’s Youth Success Strategy, a bold new initiative dedicated to helping youth build the skills that can lead to lifelong employability. CF is proud to be the first corporate sponsor of United Way’s Youth Success Strategy and has committed $600,000 over four years to support this innovative program.


CF x WE Partnership

As an extension of CF’s philanthropy platform, this year marked the start of a multi-year partnership between CF and WE, that brings the spirit of youth empowerment and philanthropy into CF shopping centres. In July, CF launched the first WE Store at CF Toronto Eaton Centre and has since partnered on a joint Back to School initiative at 20 retail properties across Canada, hosted Evening of Inspiration events to celebrate local change makers and the next phase of the partnership will introduce local WE Schools to CF properties for exciting in-mall educational experiences.


Building Communities
In addition to the Company’s corporate contributions, CF donated $179,000 to Building Communities, an internal initiative designed to help CF employees make a meaningful donation to a charity of their choice. Through this program, CF contributes to various Canadian charities on behalf of CF employees, who commit to volunteering for the organization.
