TORONTO, ON (January 3, 2019) - “I am tremendously saddened by the sudden loss of my friend Blake Nordstrom who passed away on January 2, 2019. My relationship with Blake and the Nordstrom family began more than 10 years ago when we first met to discuss the exciting possibility of expanding Nordstrom into Canada.
Blake would often say that it was important to “get it right” for our customers and for the communities we serve, and there are no rules when it comes to taking care of the customer. One of his legacies will be the extraordinary level of customer service you receive every time you enter into a Nordstrom store. Blake also joked that some of his employees were “more Nordstrom” than he was given how long many worked there for decades.
Blake Nordstrom will be remembered by the Cadillac Fairview family for his warmth and honesty, his passion for the retail business and for his customers and employees, and for his commitment to bringing Nordstrom to Canada. He will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest condolences to the Nordstrom family during this difficult time.”
